2012 River Sweep is Here!!
This a Cleanup for Those Who Love Our County!
The 2012 Ohio River Sweep will be Saturday, June 16th, from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Volunteers are needed to aid in the cleanup of local riverbanks.
There are six locations that need people to lend a hand in Boone County, KY:
Lower River Road at the Rabbit Hash General Store,
Petersburg Boat Dock,
Split Rock Conservation Park (Petersburg),
Boone's Landing (Union),
Giles-Conrad Park (Hebron),
Second St. Belleview (next to Kelly Elementary school).
T-shirts, trash bags, gloves, and food and drinks will be provided. River Sweep is an annual cleanup program organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission, an Interstate Water Pollution Agency for the Ohio River Valley. Garbage that is washed up along the river is a problem for all who live near and love our shoreline. The Ohio River Sweep is a great opportunity to beautify this area in our community in addition to teaching our young volunteers the importance of volunteering and community pride.
Each of us can make a difference! Volunteer! Call Kelly Chapman / Melissa Grandstaff at 859-334-3151 or email kchapman@boonecountyky.org.
