The Boone County Transportation Plan’s mission is to deliver a modern, reliable and sustainable multi-modal, surface transportation system that uses advanced technology and innovative design solutions to improve the mobility of people and goods through the development of a fiscally-constrained and publicly-supported plan.
Boone County, in conjunction with the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) has begun the process of reviewing and updating the Boone County Transportation Plan which will guide the development of transportation projects for the next decade. The Plan will focus on ALL modes of transportation including vehicles, non-motorized and pedestrian transportation throughout the county.
Boone County faces many transportation challenges. "In today’s world, transportation dollars are not sufficient to take care of all of the needs. If we can work smarter through proper planning and implementation of technology, improvements to transportation infrastructure can be done cheaper and more efficiently and with less impact to property owners," said Judge/Executive Gary Moore.
Public participation and input is critical to the success of the plan. There will be public meetings as the plan progresses and citizens can stay informed through the official Boone County Transportation Plan Website. Please visit the site to register for updates!
