Celebrate Our Past and Our Future

225th Celebration

From the Frontier to the Future: Celebrating Boone County’s 225 Years

Boone County has certainly come a long way in the past 225 years. From determined settlers, many of whom were veterans of the Revolution, to the booming river towns so vital to our early economy, through the Civil War and two world wars, and our considerable progress in the late 20th Century, Boone County has experienced great growth and change. But who we are is who we have always been, a strong, vital community, proud of our place in the world and determined to be the best we can be. Whether your family has been in Boone County for 200 years or just a short time, this is your Boone County and your history.

This is a big year for Boone County and it is important for us to celebrate together. From Memorial Day through December, we will be commemorating Boone County’s 225th Anniversary with several events throughout the county. To recognize our first County Court meeting in June 1799, we are going to celebrate Boone County’s 225 years of vibrant history with a day-long event on June 1st at the Boone County Fairgrounds. Keep checking back for an updated calendar of events.
